Bio

Hummie Mann (composer/co-lyricist) is a two-time Emmy-award winning composer who has scored over 50 feature and television films collaborating with some of Hollywood's most celebrated directors. His motion picture projects have included Mel Brooks' Robin Hood: Men in Tights, the popular children's film Thomas and the Magic Railroad, the animated IMAX film Cyberworld 3D, Peter Yates' Year of the Comet, and the Peter Fonda/Kris Kristofferson starrer Wooly Boys. For television, his projects have included Simon Wincers miniseries P.T. Barnum, Jonathan Kaplans miniseries re-make of In Cold Blood, Norman Jewisons Picture Windows Soir Bleu and Peter Bogdanovichs The Rescuers: Tales of courage along with episodes of Tiny Toon Adventures. For live theater he composed original songs/scores for the Los Angeles Actors Theaters Federico, the West End Playhouses Opposite You and the Met Theaters (Los Angeles) production of Alfie for which he received a Maddy Award. He arranged new material for Debbie Reynolds' tour of The Unsinkable Molly Brown and wrote new arrangements for Long Beach Civic Light Opera's production of Funny Girl starring Pia Zadora as well as the Frank Loesser review Perfectly Frank which starred Cloris Leachman. For German audiences he arranged and orchestrated the large scale musical production of Robin Hood: fr liebe und gerechtigkeit, and also conducted the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios for the cast recording. Peter and the Wolf was Hummie's first foray into theatre for your audiences.
