Recipe for Disaster
by Barry Kornhauser
It's all-important final exam time for a young Apprentice attending culinary school. Hoping to honor a beloved grandfather’s memory, and with the backing of faithful feathered friend Julia, the good-hearted Apprentice sets about to prepare a scrumptious five-course meal for the Head of School and invited guests – the audience! But it’s madcap mayhem on the menu instead as two Master Chefs arrive to oversee the proceedings. With their insatiable hunger for domination, and little appetite for kindness and consideration, both are more intent on feeding their egos than their guests. Things quickly heat up in the kitchen, culinary chaos ensuing as each battles to undermine and top the other, despite the Apprentice’s desperate efforts to have them simmer down and work together as helpful mentors ought. Recipe For Disaster serves up a mix of physical comedy, puppetry, and music - tossed with a dash of stage magic – to explore the calamitous costs of incivility in a most delicious way!
