Beauty and the Beast (Way)
by Charles Way
Based on the story by LePrince de Beaumont
Cassandra is wild while her sister, Belle, is timid. However, George, their father loves both. When his horse throws him on a journey, George is offered sanctuary in a strange house. He is given a warning not to pick a rose but he disobeys. A beast appears- half man and half wolf. George promises a daughter in exchange for his life. Belle goes, met by a housekeeper cursed in rage at a spurned love.
"The love story builds to a mesmerizing scene of dance and musical rhythm where Belle and the Beast run together through the forest with the wolves. By the time Belle’s kiss transforms the Beast, the children are wide-eyed while adults are left panting for more."-Manchester Metro
