Submission Policy

Plays for New Audiences primarily represents plays and musicals originally commissioned and/or produced by either Seattle Children's Theatre or Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis. Children's Theatre Company

Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) is the nation’s largest and most acclaimed theatre for young people and serves a multigenerational audience. It creates theatre experiences that educate, challenge, and inspire for more than 250,000 people annually. CTC is the only theatre focused on young audiences to win the coveted Tony Award® for regional theatre and is the only theatre in Minnesota to receive three Tony® nominations (for its production of A Year with Frog and Toad). CTC is committed to creating world-class productions at the highest level and to developing new works, more than 200 to date, dramatically changing the canon of work for young audiences.

CTC’s engagement and learning programs annually serve more than 93,000 young people and their communities through Theatre Arts Training, student matinees, Neighborhood Bridges, and early childhood arts education programs. ACT One is CTC’s comprehensive platform for access, diversity, and inclusion in our audiences, programs, staff, and board that strives to ensure the theatre is a home for all people, all families, reflective of our community.

As the nation’s leading theatre for multigenerational audiences, we know how critical it is to the future of the industry to make theatre-going a part of every family’s life. We know that those young people who experience the power of theatre are much more likely to make the arts a part of their adult lives than those who do not have this opportunity. To that end, we have curated a collection of plays from leading playwrights around this country and across the globe. It includes plays that we have commissioned and produced, as well as works from other theatres and playwrights that we greatly admire. We are highly selective in what we choose for the PNA catalog, because we want audiences to be truly inspired, moved, delighted, and transformed. We welcome you to this catalog and are thrilled to be on this journey with you.~ Peter C. Brosius, Artistic Director of Children's Theatre Company
