In eighteenth century China, Princess Hexiao competes with her brother to prove to the kingdom she has what it takes to be Court Royal, the Emperor’s trusted regent. Encountering a rambunctious Tiger, a pair of Pandas and the all-important Nightingale along the way, Princess Hexiao quickly learns what it means (and what it takes) to be a true leader of her people.

Damon Chua

Damon is an alumnus of The Public Theater Emerging Writers Group and Ma-Yi Theater’s Writers Lab in New York. His stint at The Public Theater was supported by a Time Warner Foundation grant. He is the recipient of a Dramatists Guild Fund #writechange scholarship and have received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Commissions include works for Adventure Theatre MTC, Climate Change Theatre Action, Compass Needle, New York City Children’s Theater and Pan Asian Repertory Theatre.
